Summer Reading Program 2011

The Summer Reading Program will kick off on Monday, June 4. Check back here in the spring for more details.

How does Summer Reading work?

Directions For Children entering 1st-6th grade
Pick up a Summer Reading Program booklet at the main library or Raymond branch starting June 6. Use the booklet to mark the amount of time you spend reading from June 6- Aug. 1. Color in a symbol for every 20 minutes you read.
You will receive a “book buck” for every hour you read. You can spend “book bucks” in our Global Market. *
If you complete 20 hours of reading, you will earn a tote bag (while supplies last) and an entry in our grand prize drawing for a bike.
Attending a reading program at the library during the Summer Reading Program (like storytime) can be counted in your total.
If you want to read an additional 10 hours, you will get another entry in our grand prize drawing.
Reading Logs must be turned in by Aug. 1.

*The Global Market will be open on Mondays, 3-6:30pm; Thursdays, 4-6:30pm; and every other Saturday (6/18, 7/2, 16, 30), 10:00am-2:00pm in the Youth Activity Room.
