Registering to Vote

All voters in the state of Ohio must be registered in their county of residence at least 30 days prior to an election. The Marysville Public Library has voter registration forms available at the Adult Services reference desk. The form is also available online here, or you may register at the Union County Board of Elections or at the BMV.

Important Dates for Upcoming Elections

For the March 15, 2016 primary election:

February 16, 2016 - Deadline to register to vote in the March primary election.

March 12, 2016 at 12:00 noon - Deadline to submit Application for Absentee Ballot to Board of Elections.

March 15, 2016 - Primary Election Day; polls open 6:30 am until 7:30 pm.

For the November 8, 2016 general election:

October 10, 2016 - Deadline to register to vote in the November election

November 5, 2016 at 12:00 noon - Deadline to submit Application for Absentee Ballot to Board of Elections

November 8, 2016 - Election Day; polls open 6:30 am until 7:30 pm

 

Absentee Voting

Any qualified voter may vote an absentee ballot in any election.

In order to vote an absentee ballot, you must complete an absentee ballot application and return it to the Union County Board of Elections by noon on the Saturday before the election. Once your application has been received, the Board of Elections will mail your ballot to you with instructions on returning it to them.

All absentee ballots must be received at the Union County Board of Elections by 7:30 pm on election day or postmarked no later than election day and received within 10 days.
